Butternut and Bacon Pasta Sauce
This lovely butternut and bacon pasta sauce I have made once while working at Augusta Kleinbosch for an Italian evening we had. We used our lovely red and white check tablecloths and we had a buffet of pasta, 3 to choose from. I had Chicken Alfredo Pasta, bacon and butternut pasta and the last one I, unfortunately, can't remember. You can make your own basic pasta dough or for an alternative just buy ready made pasta - a good quality of course- and quickly cook if you are in a hurry or you had a long day at work. Buy pieces of bacon, already cut to save you more time and prepare the blocks of butternut by cutting them into the small blocks the day before. Then you just have to pop them in the oven to roast. You can even try and save up more time by cooking the butternut in water- but note- not too soft. It is a great winter menu idea to invite friends and set the fireplace alight to be nice and cosy. Follow a few ideas to set up the table setting the true Italian way, light up some candles and drink some wine!
