This is a wonderful Cheese, Chive and Onion bread recipe which I have combined with 2 different recipes, and it turned out to be a very delicious loaf. It freezes well, and defrost fantastically! But as most recipes fresh bread is actually the best! This cheese, chive and onion bread take a bit longer making than a normal plain bread loaf, but you won't regret taking extra time to make this one. We use this tasty cheese, chive and onion bread to make our BBQ Chicken Club Sandwich at my current job. The customers really love it! If you can't get hold of chives. you can also use spring onions. And fresh herbs are always the best, way better than dried herbs. So please go out of your way to find fresh ones. Woolworths or Checkers will definitely stock fresh herbs in small packets. The cheese type to use here are cheddar cheese. It is most common and not so expensive than other cheeses. If you would like to enhance the flavour of this cheese, chive and onion bread more, add a bit of grated mozzarella with. I must warn you that this is also a very filling type of bread. We use 3 slices to combine the club sandwich and every now and again a customer would say it is really, really tasty but a bit too much (which is fine, because when our customers eat, they drink something too and our milkshakes are already filling - so you can imagine they feel a bit full.) For me, I have rather a customer not eating the plate empty due to fullness than have given a skimpy portion and they are still hungry. So enjoy this cheese, chive and onion loaf - a wonderful way to keep your family's stomach full!
