This year's 2018 Valentines Day my husband decided to take me out for a lovely day to The Pleasant Pheasant In Riebeeck-West. He has been there previously with his cousin and promised we will go there one day. So after being dressed in a little bit of red to celebrate the day of love, we took the 30 minutes drive out to The Pleasant Pheasant.

The Pleasant Pheasant is lovely restaurant situated between Riebeeck Kasteel and Riebeeck-West, with a lovely play area for families with kids. They are open late morning until after lunch, closes and then re-open for the dinner shift.

It was a very hot summer’s day in February, but we decided to take an outdoor seat at the lovely tables facing the road. The very friendly waitress bought my Chocolate flavoured Milkshake and my husband's cold Garagis ta Route 46 craft beer from their local craft beer brewery Garagis ta.

We enjoyed a lovely Garlic and Feta pita - the menu have a variety of lovely dishes to choose from - and I really loved the smoky BBQ flavour they add to the pita.

In between starters and main course we asked the waitress if you can move inside. I think it was the hottest day in our summer. We just couldn't bear the heat anymore. So we moved to the air conditioning section. My husband's ribs and chippies and my beef burger and chippies arrived. Beautiful presented and fresh. Lovely crispy chippies, fried in clean oil. It was very tasty.

As the main course satisfied us both (good pricing for a fair portion) we had a small space for a plain filter coffee. It was a lovely cup of coffee as we set us home afterwards.

I can definitely recommend taking a drive out to The Pleasant Pheasant. Because all the staff pheasants are pleasant!
